This is an exciting opportunity to visit an island that is totally off the beaten track!
Did you know that Singapore boasts one of the most beautiful landfills in the world? In 2005, the National Environmental Agency (NEA) opened the landfill for recreational activities. Pulau Semakau is home to more than 700 types of plants, animals and several endangered species. The island has natural seashore and is surrounded by mangroves and coral reef rings. Nature related recreational activities include; bird watching, tidal walks, and star gazing. No rubbish is put into the landfill.
