The new Supreme Court building was opened in 2006 by President S R Nathan. Designed by Lord Norman Foster, this building is symbolic of the evolution of the Judiciary in Singapore.
Our tour will begin in the Foyer Gallery with our guide, Janie Francis, where a display of artefacts and photos will give us a better understanding of Singapore’s justice system. We will then proceed to an open court hearing which will allow us to see what goes on during a trial. Finally, we will visit level 8, the disc, where we will get a wonderful view of the city, Boat Quay and beyond.
SECURITY AND DRESS CODE:
No cameras, listening devices or sharp objects such as scissors are allowed. Mobile phones must be switched to silent mode. There is security clearance upon entering the building. Dress code: Smart: no shorts or flip flops.
