Tour Information and Meet the Team
As well as 'teaching' you about Singapore, coming on a Tour is one of the best way to make new friends!
There is nothing like sharing a new experience - whether its food tastings or new sights - to help you connect with another person. As a tour host I continually notice people swapping phone numbers or going off for coffee or lunch at the end of the tour.
The BA attracts new members who are newcomers to Singapore so we run tours that are 'Oldies but goodies' ie a good introduction to Singapore - popular Tours such as 'Chinese New Year', 'LIttle India', Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve' and 'Black & White Houses'. However some of our members have been here for a while so in the last couple of years we have added over 20 new tours to our list - such as 'Thunderstorms and Lightening' (a visit to the weather station at Changi Airport), 'Sports Hub Tour', 'Pulau Semaku' and even a kayaking tour! Last year we 'went over the border' to Malaysia with a visit to Kukup and another to Malacca. The Malacca trip was so successful that we are planning an overnight stay next time.
We aim to provide as much variety as possible with regard to the type of tour (historical, natural, cultural etc), the days of the week, the time of day or evening and also fit in with the seasons of the year. The majority of our tours are either walking tours at $35 or coach tours at $45 but we go from free to $100. A survey of members showed that the majority of people are happy with the value of the tours provided with several people stating they are 'excellent value'. All the Tours team are volunteers and any small profits made on the Tours do go back into BA funds or to the BA nominated charities. (We do use professional guides.)
So keep reading the BEAM and get your bookings in early because in the research (already quoted) 6% of our members said they had left it too late to book and the Tour was already full!
If you have ANY questions about whether a tour will suit you or your family or houseguests please phone or email us for more information. We look forward to meeting you on a Tour very soon.
Who are we?
Karen Dawson-Smith, Karen Magill, Caroline Malone and Gwen Gillies make up the Tours team.
We aim to bring you three to four tours a month which over time give you a 'flavour' of Singapore.
