67th AGM 2023
The British Association of Singapore held its 67th AGM at the British Club on Thursday 30th March. Despite the rain disrupting travel, we had a great turnout from members who came along to hear how the BA had run in 2022 and to discuss plans for 2023.
Outgoing Chair Michael Davidson noted that the BA had survived a couple of difficult years and thanked members who played a part in keeping the BA going during difficult times, including Council members; Edith and Derry Blyth for all they did for the BA before relocating; and our fantastic activity leaders who play a key role in enabling the Association to offer such a wide range of activities.
Treasurer Arthur Kadish summarised that the BA was in a good financial position and that finances had improved from 2021. Following which the new Council was elected for 2023 and the BA's new Chair, Charlotte Sutcliffe introduced herself and outlined her plans for an inclusive BA with something for all members to enjoy.
After the formal business of the AGM concluded, the Council presented donations to its 2022 charities: Star Pals, The Haven, The Breadline Group and The Day Spring Centre (HCSA) (a donation was also made to Assisi Hospice who could not attend).

Following this, members enjoyed a delicious buffet and glass of wine or two. It was lovely to see so many new members as well as members who have been part of the BA for a number of years.
To round off the evening, we held a prize draw. Congratulations to all those who won! We would like to thank our sponsors Laura Lee's Antiques and Eastern Carpets for providing the prizes.
Thank you to all those who came along to support the Council at the AGM and for making it such a lovely evening!
